Health Rocks concert and Border Health Heroes Celebration being held on September 12, 2021 at the Living Coast Discovery Center?

The 1st annual Border Health Rocks event is benefiting Chula Vista’s Community Through Hope and their newest collaborative program: South Bay Street Medicine.

The 1st annual Border Health Rocks event is celebrating FIVE Border Health Rocks Stars who are being chosen for their leadership, courage during the pandemic and impact on the health of the San Diego-Mexico border.

Border Health Rocks is championing all aspects of border health including the health of people, animals, plants and the environment. This event is being held at the Living Coast Discovery Center in Chula Vista, whose mission is aligned with that of Border Health Rocks: a healthy border community and ecosystem.

What is street medicine?

Street Medicine is team based medical care brought to people who are living without
permanent shelter. Street Medicine prevents death and illness on the streets while bringing humanitarian care to the unhoused. Chula Vista and the South Bay have never had a Street Medicine Program. South Bay Street Medicine will bring a much needed and innovative new resource to the South Bay.

What is this fundraiser for?

All funds raised by Border Health Rocks will go to the Chula Vista non-profit Community Through Hope’s newest collaborative program: South Bay Street Medicine.

Will this be a COVID safe event?

This event will be limited to 250 guests and will be held outside, which is the safest environment for gatherings of any size during the pandemic. All CDC and San Diego County COVID safe guidelines will be strictly followed including social distancing and enhanced hygiene.

Who will be there?

At the preconcert Gala, from 3–5pm, 150 guests and sponsors will celebrate 5 Border Health Heroes. VIP entertainment will include The Living Coast Discovery Center raptors, sharks, rays, and tide-pool friends.

A maximum of 100 guests will join the event at 5:00pm – 8:00pm for the Border Health Rocks concert with a special Living Coast Discovery Center experience during concert intermission.


At 8:30pm, an after-concert VIP reception will be held for the guests, sponsors, heroes and artists.

Who are the musicians performing at the event?

We promise a small but mighty musical event that will go down in history as one of the best of 2021 in San Diego County! Alex DeGrassi, music director, is arranging the show. Please see our Concert page for artist photos, videos and bios.

Where can concert tickets be purchased?

For the 5pm concert, tickets can be purchased for $50 at the brownpaper tickets link on the Tickets page. 100 general admission tickets will be on sale starting July 15th for $50 each. No unaccompanied minors will be allowed at the event.
